This page is dedicated to FAFO Local Media, a Chrome Extension currently in early development. This tool transforms your Chrome "New Tab" page into a fully customizable media player for your local videos and photos. It is designed specifically to take advantage of high-end PCs, particularly those with multi-monitor setups.

Key Features:

• Versatile Display Modes: Choose from a Grid-view, a moving Carousel, or a Cinematic mode that features an ambient, blurred, synced video background. There is also a dedicated "Scrapbook" feature for photo-only mode.

• Visual Library Management: View your media library with clear paging and numbering. You can easily navigate to local folders to import media or create your own custom playlists directly within the extension.

• One-Click Web Import: While surfing the web, simply right-click any video or image to instantly add it to your library using the new context menu option.

• Seamless Playback: Videos play to completion without time constraints, allowing you to mix videos of various lengths into the same playlist.

• Visual Effects: Includes particle effects that can be independently toggled on or off. (Note: Please use caution with high settings as running multiple effects can be demanding on your GPU.)

• Settings Backup: Easily backup and recover your extension settings.

Project Status & Updates:

• Current Limitations: Please note that URLs are not currently backed up and will not persist if the library is wiped.

• Additionally once you install and open a new tab you will have to give permission for the file access on your local media, this permission will lose access from time to time for security reasons, you can select to alway give permission when the pop up appears which makes for better user experience. This extension is in early development through the use of AI coding so bear with me while I work out the kinks.
